Day 200. Missed a Day.

I finally missed a post, on the 200th day too.
I've been extra busy setting up for the Market.
I've increased production on my greeting cards. Printing, cutting and bagging product takes a lot of time.
My first day was today. Not as busy as I'd like, but the weekend should be better.

 Thanks for visiting.

Day 198. Mash Up.

This is a combination of two older images, creating something new.
I am reworking and cleaning up the images for print preparations,
for greeting cards. I'll be setting up for a local Farmers Market this
weekend. Testing customer response and if it is worth further
exploration.I'll be there for three days.

I am setting up standard sizes for the GC images. Lots of work
ahead of me, preparation for a long weekend selling cards.

Day 194. Crock.

Image done on Painter 11.

There are times when I make several attempts at image making,
not being satisfied with anything that shows up on the screen or page. I delete most of those pages, but never rip them out of a sketchbook. Funny thing is , with the sketchbook, I can review the image and make use of the abandoned idea  at a later date. Maybe I should start filing some of those reject pages. I need to set up a guideline for this challenge, some kind of direction...more comics maybe? What do you think? Thanks for visiting. GarSeeYa!

Day 193. Late Night Drawings 1.

Playing around more with Sketchbook Pro. I've got to do more of a rotation with different tools, just to keep it fresh. I've got enough toys to make it interesting. Hope you like the experiments. Thanks for visiting. GarSeeYa!

Day 189. Stampede Fireworks.

A couple of years ago we took the kids to see the Stampede
fireworks. They were asleep in the car when they went off.
Last night we sat on the grass, at the side of the road
and the boys got to see their first live fireworks.
After the light show, Zach said he would draw
fireworks at home. After a long walk back to the
car, they fell asleep on the way home.
We carried them into the house and into bed.

Day 186. Barb Wire.

Two years ago, on a June morning I got up before
the sunrise. Got dressed while everyone slept in
a small town. Got out the door to catch the early
sun light on the Saskatchewan prairie.

I'm still using some of those pictures today.

I wish to have more days like that one.
To capture the magic of ordinary things.

 Thanks for visiting.

Day 182. Gears and thistle.

I am creating images for fun. I don't know what to do with
all of them, but I am learning something from each one I make.
I know there aren't as many people coming to see the digital work,
but that's the way it goes. I'll get back to drawing again soon.
So for those who keep coming back...thanks for visiting.

Day 181. GMC.

I am taking advantage of some of the new features
of Photoshop CS5, using some old photos. Sometimes
new tools will inspire the work. The bonus is having fun
doing something you love.
Thanks for visiting.

Day 180.

This is the first image I created with Photoshop CS5.
I've upgraded the software for now, hopefully I'll
get a new computer soon. There will be a lot to
learn with this new tool. A good portion of my work
is done on this program, my current trend.
We'll see what else it can do in the next few days?
Thanks for visiting.

Day 176. Tibetan Monks.

Sketchbook 1991.
Tibetan monks were visiting ACAD.
They created a sand mandala on the main hall.

I was using the V-tech Uniball pens for a lot of my sketch work then.
Very thin uniform likes, that took a lot of strokes to fill in the shade.
I'm sure it's nothing compared to doing detail work with grains of sand.

These little drawings is another exploration in
halftones, using Photoshop. These are posted 11:51 PM.

This one posted 12:06 AM.
Seeing how to do it faster.
Original is water coloured.Knocking out the colours took
a little bit of time. The process would be faster with flat
or gradated tones. Line work on top.
