Day 109.

Trying out some old toys.

Lizards and ducks.
(posted at 8:30PM)

Roughs for a little project. I can't reveal the character yet...coming soon.
Having fun with this one, I know I say that a lot, but it keeps me drawing.
A little bit of Art history here, my take on it anyway. I'm moving onto finished
pencils. I'll post a bit of that too. Thanks for visiting. GarSeeYa!

Day 108.

Personal drawing time is now reduced. Projects on the go are fun to do.
As long as I'm drawing and enjoying it, I keep it going. Play time on paper,
is still a beautiful thing. GarSeeYa.

These are preliminary sketches for a special project, coming out in a few months.
It is fun to play with someone elses toys sometimes ,and I get to add a little
bit of my own interpretation. Having a blast! Thanks for visiting. GarSeeYa!

CCEE Photo

Eric Sit took loads of pictures for CCEE 2010.
Thanks for recording this awesome event!
More of his work can be seen at:

Day 107.

I had Caleb, my youngest on, draw shapes in my sketchbook.
He likes to draw ovals and construction vehicles.
The first image resulted from a series of ovals.
The second is my interpretation of one of his vehicles.

I will have new colouring pages on hand for Free Comic Book Day!
Please come by for a visit and free comics? Thanks. GarSeeYa!

Day 106 Colouring Pages.

This is playing with shapes. Lego and building blocks were favourite
toys I had growing up. My boys have their own to play with, and I'm amazed
at how much they've added on since I played with them. The complexity
of some of the modules is daunting...even when the skill level
start at three years old. My Wife and I spent part of or Christmas
holiday just building Lego robots for our boys.
That is what I thought of, after doing this drawing...that after all these years
I'm still using the skills I learned from playing with building blocks,
applied to my drawings. The best part is I don't have to follow any instructions,
I build it on the paper spontaneously.
Thanks for visiting. GarSeeYa!

These are three colouring pages I gave out at CCEE. It ran out before the show ended.
I posted them high res, if anyone would like them. It is cool to make a few people
happy even for a second or two. Thanks for visiting. GarSeeYa!

Day 105 Part 2

What an amazing day. Busy and crowded. I gave away all 60 colouring pages. I think I had more
grown ups pick them up, than kids. I met a lot of good people and was happy to sign so many
art books.
I thank the organizers of CCEE: Kandrix, Kelly,Ken, Blaine (and so many more)...the multitude of volunteers, the media
guest, artists, and the fans who made a wonderful event.

 Thank you for visiting. GarSeeYa!

Day 105.

Day 2 at CCEE. Drew these images for sale, git them done lat in the day.
Very busy on the aisles, it gets "bottle necked "sometimes in our area.
Still a good show. I get to sign alot of books in a day and I get to meet old
friends and make new ones too. Thanks for visiting. GarSeeYa!

Please come by table C06, I will be happy to sign almost anything. Have a a good show! GarSeeYa!
(I learned so much creating this image, and more after.)

This is not how it will appear in the book. This is the banner I had printed
for the show. GarSeeYa!

Day 102.

Another busy day getting ready for the show, and I'll most likely be too wound up to sleep the night before.
It's kinda like Christmas Eve when I was a little boy. Always good to be excited about life, and the people we share it with. Thanks for visiting. GarSeeYa!

Day 101.

First  image, took a quick glance at a photo, making note of body position.
Roughed it out in blueline. Details in ink. Costume details done directly
in black, letting the pieces fall into place.
This is when the "happy accidents" happen.
This is just my imagination and drawing hand are at play.
Fun with a pencil.
(posted 8 PM)
I did  blueline roughs before going to bed and penciled it this morning.
Funny what you produce when you're half asleep...hmm,
I kinda do this when I'm awake too.
Thanks for visiting. GarSeeYa!

Day 100

Extra busy last two days. Got the sketchbook laid out and print ready, dropped it off and will get it on Friday. Artwork was dropped off at the CCEE meeting tonight. Got my postcards, prints and banner.
Most of the big stuff is done. Signage and other small things to finish off and we are set for the con.
This is day 100...I thought I would bet to do something special, but deadlines came first.
A few doodles tonight...always more to come. Thanks for visiting. GarSeeYa!

Day 99.

These are DC and Marvel characters, as jelly beans. I started doing
them at Rate my Drawings a couple of years back. They are still fun to do,
still a little weird, but fun to do.
I am busy with putting together a sketchbook for the con, late in the game,
but I can do it. Over a hundred images to choose from...I have been
productive and there are some good ones to get in there.
Thanks for visiting. GarSeeYa!

Day 98.

Busy weekend, a few late evenings...not as much drawing steam or production.
First page, I had my sons draw simple shapes-mostly jelly beans, then I asked
them what animals I should draw. This is one of the results.
The second one, started with a hat.
Short and sweet today. Thanks for visiting. GarSeeYa!!!

24HC2009 Flashback.

These watercolour images were done in October, 2009 for the
24 Hour Comic Challenge. I was not able to committ for the full day, but managed about
eight pages. It has beeen sometime since I've painted by hand, and I
promise myself ,to push that paint around again.

This is a change of pace from the daily blog.
I hope you like them.
Thanks for visiting. GarSeeYa!

The challenge here: laydown colours first, then inks and refinements
and details. No preconceived ideas.

Day 97.

I missed Girl Friday. Making up for it now, but I have been getting more figure work done on the comic.
This should be an interesting and busy week with CCEE coming up. I'm sure there will be a few of us putting in extra hours to get things done on time. I'm doing one show this year (so far), what's it like to do ten or twenty? Thanks for visiting. GarSeeYa! (posted 1 PM)

Day 96.

The Pigs: version 2. I got rid of the heavy armour and put them in
more relaxed costumes. They're like Swine Hit Pigs, just not very good.
( posted 2:30 PM)

Page four is a something that reaffirms my passion for drawing and comics.
It has been much too long since I've done a page like this, it inspires me to
keep doing more, and improve the craft. Thanks for visiting. GarSeeYa

Day 95.

First three page roughs for HOOD. Nine more to go. Lots of clean up to come on pencils. I won't
do that until all the roughs are done. I'll be putting together a sketchbook for CCEE at the same time.
There never seems to be enough time, always more we can do before an event. Good planning takes
skill. Thanks for visiting. GarSeeYa! (posted 8:30 PM)

Penguins. Inspired by a Christmas card by Kathryn O.

The Pigs.
A few more characters and settings to design, then I move onto
sequentials. Gotta keep on pushing, till we reach that goal.
