Artist Block Party.

June 17th to June 19th. There will be lots to see and do.

The Artist Alley and Small Press exhibitors are putting together
a pin-up book under the theme of "Illustrated Classics".
It will be a full colour, perfect bound,
comic format book. Details are yet to be finalized.

If you would like to participate, please contact me.
We are looking for the best quality image you can produce.
Think "Book Cover or Movie Poster" standard, there are
no guarantees that your work will be selected when you submit.

The publisher requires first printing rights in this collection. Artists
retain all copyrights to their individual work. At some point we may see
some royalties of sales and complimentary copies.

There are more discussions happening on Maple Ink Forums.

Thank you.

Day 220. Grampie's Woodworks..

I talked with Gary last Saturday about doing up a new business card for him.
The original cards were hand cut individually, framed in a rubber stamp of
a jar. A homemade approach. It has all the important information and
reflects the business image. I suggested using the signage he created
for his little shop, as the business card. I took a picture and took it
home to work on.
I took out the knot in the "G" and the line that went through
"wood works", straightened out the sign...keeping it flat,
minimized the distortion and bumped up the colour and contrast.
Other text was added, which was originally on the back, then
printed and cut it.
I'll post a picture of the original and finished product later.

Thanks for visiting.

Day 209. Weigh 2 Go!

First mock ups of creative packaging for Weigh 2 Go.
Small gift boxes for party give aways, filled with candy
and other goodies. More designs in the works.

The boys wouldn't give them back to me this afternoon,
wanting to play with them. I take that as "Kid approval".

Day 68.

I'm volunteering my talent for church. This is a big event for our community. We have been parishioners at St. Gerard's for twenty years. We were married there, had our sons baptized, saw my parents renew their vows and attended family funeral services all at the same church.

This is a token of appreciation and thanks to our church community.

Day 47.

Self promo card designs. Most of it is done on Corel Draw X4, the upgrade has just come out
for CDX5. I'll be playing with that one soon. These have been fun to do. GarSeeYa!!!
