Day 147.

Ink monsters.

I picked up bottled ink for fountain pens,and copier cartridges.

It is like an ink addiction(ha...add-ink-tion).Expensive for

a bit of carbon, but is a creative need to feed.

I don't have  a Sunday theme today...

making one up." Redesign or update characters for

70's or 8Os's Saturday morning cartoons".

I chose SPACE KIDETTES, I saw them for the first time

on a Hanna Barbera DVD collection a few months ago.

Very similar design to the GREAT GAZOO.

Wood and sky.

Over the last few months, I see the art cycles I go through,

going from one medium to another. Exploring and creating.

Sunday theme: transparent character.

I tried a couple of takes on this one,

couldn't get into it this time. I tried a

retro cartoon thing with the Genie in

transparent mode, not communicated well.

Day 133.

One of my abandoned pages, this one got along further than the others.

Some of the characters look a little too evil for a kids colouring book.

There are worse things out there, but I am aiming for a family friendly

book. I got five out of twelve done this week. A good start.

Sunday themes are back with the Daily Blogger.

The chosen theme is "favourite Disney moment or scene".

This was a tough one, since there are so many

to choose from.The early Disney movies I saw were

the classics:Snow White,Bambi,Pinocchio,Dumbo...

but I have to go with the short film: "The Old Mill" and

"Fantasia", for one special moment,

 it made me love animation and creating art.

 That continues to this day.

Day 84 Part 2.

Day 70.

Today was a good day for drawing.

I got to choose the theme: ROBOT IN DISGUISE.We saw so many robots on TV. Bugs Bunny, Herculoids, The Jetsons, Gilligan's Island, Six Million Dollar Man, Transformers, Thundercats , and the list goes on and on. We saw them in movies like Star Wars and Wall E. Comic books, novels, picture books and magazines.

The list goes on and on and the fascination continues.
Artificial intelligence, clothed in steel ,plastic and advanced technology.

They make our cars and home appliances, vacuum our floors, and play with us and serve us.What would happen if they chose not to serve? That is if they could think and choose?

I'm thinking of stories that may come, using these characters. It is always fun to explore and tell your own stories. This was a good exercise for me, as it got a little story telling involved.

It was also another reminder of how natural working with a lead pencil can be. Getting the idea on paper instead of a screen is more concrete and immediate, and gives me personal satisfaction.

Theme was "Valentines Day"incorporating Cupid and hearts.

This is after he's done his target practice. Random words from Marnie L. :Aardark and robbery.

I took it literally, but the critters look more like armadilos?
