FDC Day 28.

Last image for the month. It got me drawing more and playing
with more of my tools, and learning a little more.
All in all, a positive challenge.

What I would do differently, next time?
Create original images  just for the challenge,
and try a few more traditional media.

Thanks for visiting.

FDC day 27.

Inspired by spray paint art, for a background,
on Manga Studio. I can't pour paint on to the surface
or make active splatters with a flick of a brush.

Still a very cool tool.

FDC Day 25.

A couple of panels done on Manga Studio.
It is faster than traditional, pencil and ink,
but I miss that tactile warmth of paper.

FDC Day 24.

Early attempts at Manga Studio comic panels.

Still have to find my way around all the tools.
Individual panel creation is tricky, when I'm working
from thumbnails created on paper. Lots to learn.
This will take sometime, will be watching more tutorials
on You Tube. Always cool to learn something new.

FDC Day 22.

A busy day on the drawing tablet.
Still working on one project, finding
it difficult to find one image concept
for my Art Book submission.

I have tried several ideas and learn something from them.

I find myself back at an earlier attempt,
and will see this one to the finish.

Deadlines loom...might be playing
to the last minute.

FDC Day 12.

Getting a good "feel" for the tablet and
Manga Studio. This was all done on
a Wednesday night after dinner.

I found myself mixing colours in my dreams,
is that a good thing? More tomorrow.

Calgary Comic& Entertainment Expo Art Book.

This is the completed image for the
CCEE  2013 Art Book:weird Tales.

I started off with a mermaid and a skeleton
skull octopus. Then moved on to a diving
suit idea morphing into this.

This was my 2012 piece for the Art Book
themed "Wishes and Dreams"

Have a great show!

Happy New Year!

I've been working more with Sketchbook Pro
over the holidays. Learned more about using the tools
properly, and that has made a huge difference.
I am creating new work for upcoming conventions,
still deciding on subjects/themes to draw.
Any requests?

Thanks for visiting.

More explorations with Photoshop.

Edgar Allan Poe has always held a fascination to my imagination
in my formative years. His language and imagery has a lasting
influence with many Artists.

I will be creating more new work in time for the 2013 CCEE.
I will be at Artist Alley again surrounded by many friends and collogues.
Come by and see us and many of our creations.

Thank you.

Digital Crayola

I like to play around with different apps for the Ipad.
The following images were done on the Crayola app.

Experimentation with no mess.
Still I'll have to pick up the paintbrush again
and do more painting.

Thanks.

Painter Scratches 2

A little playtime goes a long way...just making it up as I go along.

Painter Scratches

I've been struggling with a creative block of late.
I pick up a drawing tool and I can't get motivated to finish anything.
Sometimes you have to give yourself sometime to play
and not think too much about it, and see what happens.

Weird how that head works in two different orientations.

Thanks for visiting.

Draw Something 4

I've slowed down a bit, getting some actual drawings done.
Players are guessing words quickly and not watching as much.
It is still good practice, visualizing many things...I tend to do
more elaborate images, but gotta go with quick ones now.
