Strawberry Head: Colours

I finally got this one together. Pencil crayons over watercolours

and printed black lines. This is coloured on the pages I sell at cons,

they stand up pretty well, on wet and dry media.

 B&W print...a few thousands strokes to finish.

Oz War: Colours.

This one is done...after too many hours, but it is one of the most complex image I've created,

and I am proud of it. It is a milestone in my digital creations. I've learned a lot on my own,

Mushroom Man: Colours

I switched to Prismacolor pencils for this one, huge difference in colour

quality and intensity. Blends well compared to regular crayolas and similar

brands. A long process, but well worth it.

Getting back to this image...long process

on the colouring stage.

I used traditional media for the colours, using

the same layering techniques with watercolours

and brushed inks. The difference is the layers

are digital and final effects are done on Photoshop

and Painter. Trying to meet a deadline and finish this off.

experiment. Touches of SHARPIE paint pen

for high lights.

I started with random shapes, pushing

the paint around. This is upside down,

from the original orientation.

I turned the image around to "see"

the possibilities and found the subjects,

with help from red pencil.

A touch of pencil crayons and inks

with a brush pen to finish.

Same process as above...

With an interesting result.

Little doodles done while waiting at the Lego store.

1. Watercolor over blue pencil doodle.

Sea Salt Black Bird.

With a very wet brush, blue and black pigment

was applied on the board. Coarse sea salt was sprinkled

on the wet surface, creating a lighting effect as it dried.

It was a "big black shape" before it transformed

into the bird. Black, white and brown conte crayons

added accents. Finished with a pencil for fine lines,

then scanned and a little more work on Photoshop.

A starting point for more experimentation.

Day 231. Old Sketchbook 1995.

I'm finally getting my books out of boxes and into shelves.

More sketchbooks to be discovered.

Day 158.

Kuretake brush pen sketch. Still loving this pen. I ordered it with an ink

cartridge converter, having the option to refill with bottled ink. I've done

some research on which inks would be suitable, but was not satisfied

with some of the answers. I didn't want to take chances on the sable

natural hair, so I've stuck to the cartridge ink. I got fifty of them in the mail.

Hopefully that will last for a while?
