A Little Exercise

I've been playing around with Corel Draw X3 and Painter X for some time now. This is the first posting using the new tools, first on CDX3: a logo for a local comic book store.

I've working on a painted version as well, I'll post that when its done.

I've had my digital camera with me for a while now, and I've started to take advantage of it more often. There are so many little things of artistic interest out there, and I wanted to record some of them.

The February drawing challenge on Maple Ink is coming to a close. I managed to get a few good pictures in there. I am most satisfied with the Autodesk Sketchbook Pro, images created. There are some good pieces there from other participants. Check them out.


I've recently joined the Cambrian House community, this is where all good ideas go to find a home or just wither away. Please click on the mortar and pestle icon to view my idea.

Hello,

It has been a while since my last update.

My cover for OF BITTER SOULS issue #3 has come out from Markosia Publishing, the colouring book and Comic-Kazi's 24HC Anthology has also come out, with my work.

I will be working to produce more comic book work this year. New material will be offered on April 29th, at this years Comic and Entertaiment Expo.

This spring I'll be doing three workshops for the Calgary Public Library on CREATING PROFESSIONAL COMIC PAGES. Check the Maple Ink Blog for more info.

I am currently working full time at Studio Y Creations, sculpting and sanding foam most days. I am covered with artificial (foam) snow most days. It also gets in my socks and underwear(yeah...too much information). I'll get a few images up soon.

Sketchbook 060827 Update.

I'm starting to get back into the groove, producing more. The trick is being able to do what you can in limited time. For example setting up smaller panels instead of full page drawings, done in short sittings.

I've been waiting for a script for a little while, a project I've been itching to do...I hope it makes it in soon.

Getting back onto drawing on a regular basis. The Comic-Kazi move took a lot of my time. I'll be picking up production with current projects as soon as the script pages come in. Here are a couple of sketches, just keeping my hands occupied with a pen.

This is a little exercise with the ELSEWORLD idea, using Marvel characters set in a different setting and time period.

May Day : Drawing A Day

I am more than half way through the challenge of doing one drawing per day through the month of May. This was started up by Nick and Conor, fellow members of Maple Ink Comics, there are a few of us that have taken them on. You can see more of the work HERE.

A much needed update...

Recently I got two pin-ups included in two trade paperback collections for Markosia Of Bitter Souls and Smoke & Mirror should be coming out in a couple of months.I also have a variant cover for OBS issue #2.

I may have a couple of pages in a Charity colouring book for Rare Method, but details are still to be worked out.




I'm finally getting some drawing done again,but I have to leave the house and get away from the distractions of kids and house cleaning.Not fantastic for my wife, but I'm getting some work done.
